PPFC & OUR VILLAGE COMMUNITY

Our club is based at the heart of the beautiful Surrey village of Pirbright. Situated six miles North of Guildford, and with Woking roughly the same distance to the East, Pirbright has a population of around 1,750. The main village is located to the South of the railway line; the military area – with its links to neighbouring Aldershot – to the North. PPFC draws members not only from the village itself, but from schools throughout these three nearby major conurbations

At the centre of Pirbright is our Village Green; flanked by heathland and overlooked by the traditional village shops and hostelries. The Green is the home of Pirbright Cricket Club, and Pirbright Football Club, both of whom have proved hugely supportive partners to PYFC since our formation. We have some way to go to match their longevity, however: cricket having been played on the green since 1780 and senior football since at least the 1950s.

All of our age group teams over the last decade have begun their footballing journey training and playing matches on the school’s superb playing fields. Matches are often played to the backdrop of mist rolling across the surrounding Surrey farmland and to the soundtrack of the local livestock and the bells of St Michael & All Angels Church.

We work closely with Pirbright Parish Council, whose support has been critical toward the club’s growth and that of youth sport in the village as a whole.  We take part in a number of community events and enjoy links with our two local National League clubs: Woking FC and Aldershot Town FC, who have both regularly hosted our teams as community partners over the years.

Our goal remains to provide children with the opportunity to enjoy and develop their footballing ability, whilst doing so with sportsmanship, team spirit and pride for their team, club and community.
